Meatballs.
A New Zealand favorite.
Serve these meatballs on rice or spaghetti noodles.

INGREDIENTS:
1 kg Prime NZ Beef mince,
2 eggs,
2 red onion,
1 good squeeze of tomato sauce,
1 & 1/2 cups of bread crumbs,
Rolled oats may be substituted for the bread crumbs,
1 jar of Pasta sauce,
1 good shake of mixed herbs (less than 1 teaspoon),
Olive oil,

Dolmio pasta bake sauce, roast garlic and herb flavor will do nicely.

 

Method:

First put on some rice to cook we are using our rice cooker
or, if you are having your meatballs with spaghetti noodles get them ready to cook.

Put your mince in a big bowl,
Add 1 & 1/2 cups of breadcrumbs (or rolled oats),
Add a good shake of mixed herbs and a good squeeze of tomato ketchup,

Add your 2 eggs,
Finely chop and add 2 red onion.

Now get your hands in the mix and mush it all together.

Put some oil on in a frying pan and put it on a high heat,
Take small amounts of your mince mix and roll it into small balls of equal size,
Place each ball on to a side plate until you have used up all the mince.

Then place as many meatballs into your frying pan as will easily fit.
Brown the meatballs.

You need to use ample oil and move the meatballs around so they do not stick. Don’t be rough and keep your meatballs in one piece.

Cook the meatballs in batches, cook one batch put them in a bowl, then cook another batch. Once all the meatballs are cooked put them all back into the pan and start your sauce.

Add your jar of Sauce,
Now add water to the jar (about 1/3 full) and swish the water around to get all the sauce. Pour this over the meatballs and gently move the sauce through the meatballs,

Cover and simmer until the sauce is hot,

Serve on a bed or rice or spaghetti.
