Turkey Leg coated with marmalade.
Delicious & perfect for any meal, with the same great flavor as a roast turkey.
Turkey legs thaw from frozen really fast compared to a whole turkey.
In this recipe Granny coats the leg with marmalade to give aunique flavor. One turkey leg has a lot of meat on it and is enough for an adult.

INGREDIENTS:
Turkey legs
we get ours frozen from Farros in Auckland.
Price 06-12-2013: 3 frozen turkey legs for $10 nzd.

New Potato,
Granny said “jersey bennes are the first new potato of the season from Oamaru, a nice firm potato that tastes great”,

A sprig of mint,
Asparagus,
A drizzle of cooking oil,
Marmalade,
Cranberry sauce,

A large oven bag.

Method:
Pre-heat your oven to 200o Celsius,

Take an oven bag and open it inside a roasting dish.

Wash and pat dry your turkey legs.
Granny used a clean dry tea towel.
A dry turkey leg will allow the marmalade to stick.

Now take a tablespoon full of marmalade and smear it onto each turkey leg.
Put each leg inside the open oven bag when it is coated.

Add a drizzle of cooking oil over the Turkey legs.
Granny used “Alfa one, %100 Rice bran oil”.

Tie your oven bag and pop the turkey legs into your pre-heated the oven,
The legs take about 1 hour to cook,

While the Turkey legs are coking prepare your vegetables,
Wash your Potato,
You do not need to peel the skin on new potato,
Granny uses clean a pot scrub,
Put the potato into a pot and add your sprig of mint,

Put the lid on and bring the potato to the boil,
When the potato are soft they are ready,
They are nice hot or cold,
Drain off the water,
Leave them until you are ready to dish the meal,

Wash the asparagus and break of the end of the stalk,
Cover with cold water and bring to the boil.
Cook just long enough so the asparagus is a little soft.
We like ours still quite crunchy,

Drain the water and the are ready to dish,

Take your turkey legs out of the oven,
Cut open the bag and dish on plates with a little cranberry sauce.
New Potato always taste good with a little butter.
