Donburi.
Make Donburi with your favorite choice of meat or tuna.
Simply substitute the beef in the below recipe for any of your favorite meats, chicken, fish or tofu.
Donburi is rice, topped with shredded vegetables & meat topped with wasabi (horse radish) sauce and mayonnaise.
A classic Japanese meal made at home.

Today we are making beef.
INGREDIENTS:
Rice,
Red Cabbage,
Radish (1),
Yellow capsicum (1/2),
Red Capsicum (1/2),
Cucumber,
Carrot (1),
Marinated Beef (500 grams for 4-5 adults).
Today we are using beef marinated from the butchers.
Condiments:
Wasabi (horse radish) sauce,
Mayonnaise,
Soy sauce.
Method:
Cook your rice. Rice Cooker method. If you do not have a rice cooker, cook your rice as you normally would. We will make a page soon for our alternative methods.
Prepare your vegetables.
Finely slice and quarter your radish and cucumber.
Juliette or grate your carrot.
We use a hand held shredder.
Slice and chop your capsicum’s.
Finly slice your red cabbage.
Put all the sliced and chopped vegetables into a container and mix.
We use a click clack container and shake it, you can just use a salad bowl and mix by tossing with spoons.
Slice and cook your meat, we fry ours in a little bran oil.
Once your meat and rice are cooked you are ready to dish.
Assemble your Donburi.
1st put a quantity of rice in the bottom of your serving bowl.
Don’t use too much rice, we have a lot of vegetables to go on next.
Next add a good quantity of vegetables.
Top this off with your meat.
Finally, all hands add your own sauce & get eating.
Wasabi, Mayonnaise and Soy sauce are the more traditional.
