Hummus.
This is a fantastic topping on bread or great to eat with a salad.
Chick pea hummus is high in protein.

INGREDIENTS:
400 gram can of chick peas;
1 teaspoon of ground cumin;
1 teaspoon of crushed garlic;
4 tablespoon of lemon juice;
2 tablespoon of oil;
4 tablespoons of Tahini (Sesame seed paste);
A pinch of Salt;

You will need a kitchen whiz or a blender.
We are using a can of Chick peas for this recipe. You can prepare your own Chick peas by soaking them overnight to make them soft.

METHOD:
Drain your can of chick peas and rinse them with cold water.

Put a few chick peas into your bender.
Use only a few chick peas when getting your Hummus started.
This will give yo a nice fine blend with an even spread of all the flavors.
Add 1 generous teaspoon of crushed garlic.
Mix by pulsing your blender until your chick peas are finely chopped.

Next add 4 tablespoons of Lemon juice and 4 Tablespoons of Tahine (Sesame seed paste).

Finally add in the rest of the Chick Peas and a teaspoon of Cumin.

Blend everything together until you have a smooth Hummus.
Season to taste with salt.

Plate with a few whole chick peas and a drizzle of olive oil.

For a smoother, richer Hummus you can also add in 1/4 cup of sour cream or cream .

Plate the Hummus and add a few whole chick peas.
Enjoy with bread & pita bread or as a dip!
