INGREDIENTS:
Chicken livers,
3 x 200 ml containers of chicken livers will make a good sized bowl of chicken liver Pâté.
Butter,

For an orange flavored variation you will need 1 Orange.

METHOD:

Prepare your chicken livers by cleaning them and cutting off anything excess or any fat.

Melt a large knob of butter in a saucepan.
Put the chicken livers in the saucepan and cook thoroughly.
Stirring occasionally.

Mash the cooked livers until you have a nice lump-less consistency.

Leave your Pâté to cool then refrigerate.

You may now add some orange juice and zest to make chicken and orange Pâté, if you like.
Grate the rind of 1 orange,

Add the orange juice,

Now Granny makes Pâté with just livers & the Pâté is super delicious.
Granny used to make liver Pâté with breadcrumbs. Breadcrumbs can be used to bulk it out or make it into a bigger quantity, however it will not taste as good.
Just put your cooked livers into the blender and add some breadcrumbs and blend it all together.

Eat with bread, crackers or rice wafers, add a little tomato or have it in a sandwich.
