Bubble tea.

Bubble tea or pearl tea,
Add these delicious tapioca balls to the bottom of a cool refreshing drink.
Drink your Bubble tea with a thick straw & enjoy the chew-able treats.

We have tried several methods on the back of the tapioca packets to cook the bubble tea; we have found that our own method using the slow cooker works best for us.

INGREDIENTS:
Tapioca balls,
You can purchase the tapioca balls at your local Asian supermarket. Ask the friendly staff and they may show you where you can find them in store.

You will need:
A Slow cooker or crock pot.
Thick straws.
We get our straws from K.F.C. (the straws are used in their Krusher drinks.)
Use the same straws over and over again, just rinse them with clean water after each use.

A container with lid to keep the cooked tapioca balls in the fridge.
The tapioca balls keep well in the fridge.

METHOD:
Add 1-2 cups of dry tapioca balls into your slow cooker.
Cover with 2-3 inches of boiling water from the jug.
Stir the tapioca balls & ensure none are sticking to the bottom of the slow cooker.

Cook on low for 3-4 hours.
you do not need to add any sugar.

Add some fresh cool water to the slow cooker and give them a stir.

Then pour them into a colander and rinse thoroughly with fresh cold water.
This will stop the cooking process and they will keep well in the fridge.

Put them into a container in the fridge.
Add a spoonful of tapioca balls (or two) to a cup full of… Flavored milk or chilled unsweetened green tea or try them in less sweet Raro.

Mmmm Bubble tea is so good!
CAUTION: Not a health or weight loss food.
Tapioca balls contain a lot of carbohydrate, but they are worth it!
